The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis welcomed a technical mission from the World Food Programme (WFP), which paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew as part of its ongoing assessment of school meals and nutrition initiatives across Saint Kitts.
Discussions during the meeting highlighted the vital link between nutrition and education, as well as the Government’s continued commitment to strengthening school feeding programmes and ensuring students have access to healthy, nutritious meals.
Also present for the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, along with Permanent Secretaries from the Ministries of Education, Health, and Agriculture.
The WFP mission is also engaging in field visits, consultations, and workshops with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for stronger, more resilient, and inclusive food systems that support children and families across the Federation.
